Khalifa Stadium Energy Centre and Office Building
The design, build, and successful commissioning of the Khalifa Stadium Energy Centre that provides air-conditioning in the open air Khalifa International Stadium is one of Galfar Al Misnad’s biggest successes.
As the largest District Cooling Plant in Qatar, it is designed to meet a cooling load of 89000 TR. The innovative cooling technology we used in the Energy Centre not only reduced costs, but also conserved energy and space consumption, leading to this design being adopted as the standard for all the Energy Centres at FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums.

CO2 Injection and Export Tie-Ins
The CO2 Injection and Export Tie-Ins Project provided the facilities to collect the carbon dioxide (CO2) rich streams (AGE absorber off-gas) from the Sulphur Recovery Units (SRU's) within RGX2 trains, and its injection; by utilizing the existing Acid Gas Injection (AGI) facilities.
The project involved the construction of 2.1Km of 48” header on 30-32 mtr high Pipe Racks and small bore piping (steam lines) of 15km, with hot insulation. The Structural Fabrication and Erection as part of new pipe rack and modification of existing pipe rack was 450 MTon. The total piping involved was about 45000”dia, as well as the painting/insulation of lines. There were nine hot taps varying from 2” to 4” size. The job included the installation of 28” MOVs and its associated E/I works.
In continuation to this project, Galfar Al Misnad is currently executing the CO2 WAG Injection Pilot Project which involves the construction of a 154km long 16” pipeline from this facility in Ras Laffan to Dukhan.
